I’ve officially reach 90% of my goal (thank you), so it is time to make a final push and giveaway-all-the-things. Thank you to everyone that has generously donated and helped spread the word. For those of you that might not know, on July 27 I’ll be running 52.4 miles with the San Francisco Marathon. Here is how the back-to-back marathons will work:
- Midnight: Run the SFM course in reverse, from finish to start.
- 5:40am: Run the SFM course with everyone else, start to finish.
In doing this, I am also raising money and awareness for the SF SPCA (SF Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). I was able to get generous donations to help my efforts and the entire list (with URLs) is below. I’ll be giving away an item a day until everything is gone.
(2) Pro Compression — you’ve seen me rock these on several occasions. I’m an Ambassador for them and wear them to race and recover — and yes, I color coordinate my socks to match what I’m wearing on race day. Keeping it classy. Each winner will choose their own style and color.
(1) Adidas Climachill shirt signed by David Beckham (Mens XL) – see photo here.
Just in time for the World Cup, this shirt is autographed by none other than David Beckham and donated by Adidas Climachill shirt
(2) Be Real shoes
BE REAL shoes are a new type of minimalist running shoes. They are designed to work seamlessly in every running environment. “For the price of one shoe, you get a perfect trail, crossfit, and water shoe. The shoes are made in the USA utilizing ecofriendly manufacturing techniques enabling the rubber soles to be 100% recyclable.” Recently launched, buzz is spreading across the internet from bloggers to athletes to trainers. See what people are saying.
(1) ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurt (a shipment of four cartons, 1 of each flavor)
With Summer in full-swing, it’s time to make sure we have something healthy and COLD to snack on. “A better treat after a long run than ice cream, new ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurt contains 20 grams of protein in a 4-oz. squeeze tube—and only 160 calories. It comes in four flavors: Vanilla Bean, Banana Vanilla, Blueberry Pomegranate and Dutch Chocolate.ProYo is crafted from creamy probiotic yogurt to create a delicious and nutritious “anytime frozen treat.” It contains no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors and is ideal for people of all ages. Key benefits include high protein, healthy probiotics, low fat, good source of fiber, GMO-free, gluten- and soy-free, and it’s rBST- and rBGH-free.”
The story of how it was created is pretty cool: “ProYo was created by Santa Barbara’s Nathan Carey after he sustained a multiple arm fracture while lifting weights. He created ProYo to supplement his diet with protein throughout his recovery.” For more information on where to buy ProYo, visit http://proyofrozenyogurt.com/where-to-buy/.
(1) Barefooters (various sizes, colors, mens/womens)
I have a pair that I wear around the house post-run. They may remind you of Crocs, but they are built with recovery in mind. The insoles are designed to supply a reflexology massage for your feet. They are also built from environmentally friendly material (see the story here).
(2) Tribesports half-zip performance top (mens or womens)
A performance half-zip top ideal for those morning (or evening) runs when you need something to keep your body warm. Branded with the Tribesports logo and runner-favorite thumbholes, you’ll be set to get your workout on knowing that the product is community-powered delivering quality running gear. (Learn more here).
(2) HALO Belts (LED belts for night visibility, mens or womens)
These are pretty friggin sweet. They are LED visibility belts that are reflective, fully adjustable, rechargeable and when you cross two of them, it looks TOTALLY BAD ASS. Each winner will receive ONE HALO belt — color availability may vary, I have one of each color. (See their story here)
(1) 3-month supply of Ascenta NutraSea Omega-3 supplement (3 bottles)
This is the supplement that I have been using for the past few years. I started taking it when I was training for my first 50-mile race and it has been a staple in my running strategy. It’s the only supplement I take and an easy way to get your daily recommended intake of omega-3. (Learn more here).
