Being in the Bay Area, we are surrounded by some of the best of the best… and we get to run year round which means we are always thinking about “the next thing.” And this just might be it. I’m happy to have some friends on the blog today with a guest post to tell you about YOUR next adventure. From some of the strongest minds that frequent November Project SF, we have: The Loop.

* * * * *

Q: What is The Loop?

A: Let’s start this off serious. The first of its kind, The Loop is a multisport relay race circling the San Francisco Bay Area. Mixing spontaneity with endurance, teams of 2-4 will run and cycle nearly 200 miles in 2 days, navigating city neighborhoods, regional parks, and rural roads. But really you can find these exact words and more on our website: thesparrow.co/theloop

In my opinion, The Loop is an epic weekend. It is really a fun game. The idea came from bike messengers: how they are given a package with a destination of delivery, the route they take is completely up to them. We are steering you in the right direction with our checkpoints, and providing you the space for creative license.

Q: This sounds intense; can I really do it if I’m not a seasoned bi-athlete?

A: Not going to lie, this is an intense event. BUT, it is going to be the most fun for the teams who take it slow, enjoy the views, and make some friends along the way.

Race The Loop

Picture this: It’s the summer solstice, your sweat has dried to salt and, let’s face it, you smell. You’re lying in a cool field surrounded by hundreds of new friends (don’t worry they all smell too). You’ve just completed day one of a crazy running and biking challenge around the San Francisco Bay. There are hums of friendly rivalry all around, but all you can focus on is the delicious smell coming from the grill. Oh, and don’t forget the cold beer in hand.* I welcome you to The Loop. Sounds pretty awesome right?

Sign up meow! The Loop is a multisport relay race circling the San Francisco Bay Area. Mixing spontaneity with endurance, teams of 2-4 will run and cycle nearly 200 miles in 2 days, navigating city neighborhoods, regional parks, and rural roads. But at its core, The Loop is an opportunity for co-discovery: the experience of exploring the unknown—from faraway mountains to local neighborhoods—necessarily together.

Why race The Loop?

It’s simple. If you are looking for the next big challenge in your life (no matter your experience / skill level), this is the event for you. People sign up for road races all the time… this isn’t your average race. Normally people register, show up, run, and leave with a t-shirt. With The Loop, you register, show up, find rivals, play with our app to track your progress, compete, make friends, camp under the stars, and create memories. Don’t worry… you’ll still get your t-shirt. While you’re looking fly in your Loop swag, you’ll be navigating to checkpoints in the most beautiful parts of the Bay and tracking your progress in our app.

The gang at Sparrow is hard at work (or is it hardly working… I forget), making sure this event is an absolute hit. Above all, your safety is our top priority. Of course, there will be a bit of tomfoolery along the way (after all, every Sparrow team expedition involves a magnum or two of champagne). So sign up today and don’t miss out on the opportunity of the year. It’s the freakin’ summer solstice man! How cool is that? Please direct all questions to support@thesparrow.co.

* We card everyone. Must be 21+ to drink.
