Two quick things on this lovely Friday.
First:
Early Registration for Oakland Running Festival ends on Saturday (4/6/13).
I’ve run all 4 years and with next year being the 5th anniversary, they are planning big things. This is the lowest price registration will be, even with a coupon or promo down the ride. THIS IS THE DEAL. You’ve read the race reports about how I’ve PR’d on this course (twice), how I’ve run in costume and how much I really enjoy it. I’ll be out there for 2014, so hope you join me.

That second photo is around the last mile, I look darn happy for mile 25-26.
I brought out the “wings” going under the ARCH OF FIRE — yep, they have an Arch of Fire on the course along with a fire breathing horse that has a DJ on top… pretty cool, huh?
Second:
The First Lady turned a year and a half, or 18 months. It is stated often, but it is correct: time flies. It’s been a great journey and I’m looking forward to things to come. She is growing up so quickly and the days of her sleeping for hours on me are no more. But they are replaced with moments like these:
She is getting so big, but I still love carrying her. Who needs a gym when you can lift some cuteness.
Holding hands is always important — and I don’t have to bend down as far.
To celebrate the 18 month milestone, we got a cupcake.
We then got said cupcake on our face and hands and wanted to grab the camera.
That’s your two things for this Friday.
I’m running the Inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco Half Marathon on Sunday. I’ve decided to go with the GoPro attached to my head and am 99% sure I’ll be wearing an orange shirt. Keep an eye out and say hello if you spot me. I’ll be taking it at a comfortable pace around the 2:15-2:30 group.

Happy 18 months to the First Lady! I had to laugh at not having to bend down as far to hold hands – that was one of my first thoughts when my kids started getting taller too!

The First Lady is a little cutie, I’ve heard fun things about that age! I was happy with all the marathon photos- there were tons of them! Next year you’ll probably get 3:30 for the full :)

AH! can’t handle the cutest!!! (of HER, brian!!) ;) weekend plans? my students are running a 1-mile race to complete their “marathon” that they’ve been working on… they’ve run 25 miles (1 mile at a time) throughout the past few months and tomorrow they finish it off!

She is just too precious! I loved 18 months with my kids. And it goes ridiculously fast–makes your head spin.

Happy 18 months to the First Lady!! It does go by quickly, right? Don’t worry, you still have a bit of time in the “carrying the kid” department. My nearly 4 year old still insists on it. Love the holding hands picture. So sweet. This weekend? I don’t know! There are a lot of activities and I’m hoping to get another easy run in to test out my foot. Fingers crossed.

I finally have a weekend NOT working so I intend to buy and landscape my front gardens, test drive a couple new car possibilities, a Rays’ baseball game, food truck event, grocery shopping, Busch Gardens, and the bf’s dad’s birthday dinner. Whew! Packed. AND I don’t remember getting a cupcake so I’m infinitely jealous of First Lady’s. She is such a doll!
Happy 18 months to the first lady! It is crazy how time flies, I am planning a party for an almost 2 year old, although he prefers fruit to cupcakes (I know! I am shocked too)
