Let’s dive right in.

I’m happy to announce that I have been asked by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series to be a part of their Rock ‘n’ Blogger team.

How did this happen?

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series is launching the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco in April and they already have the Half Marathon in San Jose. Since the Bay Area is my home and I run and blog a lot about it, it seemed like a good fit. They asked, I gladly accepted.

But it could be more, right?

You know how my brain works. I’m kicking it up a notch:

There are a total of 5 Rock ‘n’ Roll events in California and I will be running all 5 in 2013.

Like I said: I like to run a lot. The first event is less than 2 weeks away and it helps to always be in training mode. We’re coming up with a cool name for it (and a graphic), but something along the lines of: California Rock ‘n’ Blogger, party of 1.

What does this mean for you?

Rock ‘n’ Roll Pasadena Half Marathon

Course Overview:

It’s a 13.1 mile route that starts and finishes at the Rose Bowl Stadium and includes a route through downtown Pasadena. I’ve never been to the historic stadium, so I’m looking forward to seeing it for the first time. The elevation changes over the course rising and falling between 770 ft. and 912 ft. There are a couple quick up and downs, but most of the course seems to be gradual climbs and descents.

Headliner Concert:

Besides the 14 bands that will be performing along the course, there is a Post Race concert at all Rock n’ Roll events. For Pasadena, it will be FAR EAST MOVEMENT. I’m pretty excited about this. Their music is fantastic to run to and I have several songs of theirs on my playlist. Their “Like G6” was popular her in the Bay Area when the Giants were on their way to winning the 2010 World Series — where it was remixed to “Like a G-Men.”

Join in on the fun:

Registration is still open and the event happens over President’s Day weekend — that means you can recover on Monday AT HOME! If you have the day off. In fact, here is a discount code for you to join in. Online Registration closes for Pasadena on Sunday (2/10)

Coupon Code:

$10 OFF the half marathon: PAVEMENTRUNNER10
$5 OFF the mini-marathon (around 3 miles): PAVEMENTRUNNER5

I’ll have a post up next week that talks about my race goals and race day expectations. Until then, take a look at the list of events in California and register early.

Comments are wide open. Thoughts?
