A “thank you” is only a start to my level of gratitude and appreciation for every one that was a part of the #BostonStrong runs that happened world-wide on Monday. I am incredibly proud to be part of the running community and we came out and showed our support for our fellow runners, spectators, volunteers, staff, friends and family.
I wanted to send out a special thank you to those that organized their cities. Wow. We only had a few days to pull this together and how quickly it grew and spread was incredible. From groups of 5, to gatherings of a hundred, to cities that had 1,000 to 2,000+ people show their support. Every single run was a tribute to a runner’s spirit and passion and our continuing thoughts and well wishes for those affected from the Boston Marathon bombings.
I will have more to say and share and plenty more people to thank, but wanted to let you know how proud I am of what we accomplished as a community.
See #BostonStrong Around the World:
I’m planning on compiling photos from all of the events, gathering quotes and emotions and putting them in a digital format (free) for all of us to see and experience. If you would like to be notified when it is live, please send me an email here:
Submit your photos:
If you have any photos that you would like to submit to this collection and share with the public, please send them to email above.
- Include the city/state (or equivalent) of where the run took place as the subject.
- Feel free to add a comment, emotion, experience or quote (First name, last initial). Please limit it to 2-3 sentences. Not required.
- You must have the rights to any photo submitted and be willing to share with the public.
Again, I cannot thank everyone that was a part of this enough, but I will most definitely try to.
So incredibly inspiring to see the events from all over the world dedicated to Boston!

I’m still digging up a slightly less crappy photo then I currently have. Of course my cellphone decided to give up on everything when I needed it most! Hopefully you’ll have an email sometime tonight!
Thanks again! :)
While Pasadena didn’t term their run #BostonStrong, they did a Unity 5K Run this past Sunday at the Rose Bowl (where I got the chance to meet you in February).
I’m thrilled to say that my husband and Kindergarten aged child did their first 5K’s in honor of Boston.
Despite the horror of the Boston tragedy, it’s wonderful to see the running community show how supportive they are of each other. Nice job!
What a wonderful thing you have done, I can’t wait to see all the photos.

Thanks again for getting the ball rolling! The 40+ folks we had here in Minneapolis really enjoyed it. For the 5 who ran Boston this year, it was sort of healing for them. Thank you!
