I did mine in 6:28, then I did this…
Call it a one-third-life crisis, but with my birthday last month and this being my very first father’s day, I wanted to see if I still had some youth in my legs. In highschool (seems like so long ago) we had to run a mile for basketball. I forget if we had to finish in under 6 or 7 minutes, but I know I was able to do it. I wanted to see if I still could. Not too shabby for 15 years later.
WOW congrats!! I haven’t really tested my speed at allllll… I’ve done an 8 1/2 minute mile when running with a buddy (pressure was on to keep up!) but I don’t usually force speed. However, you’ve inspired me to see what I’m made of! My goal would probably be to break 8 minutes.
From time to time, maybe every three weeks, I test my speed with a mile or 1.33 mile run. I like to think it is a good gauge if where I am at.
I forget if it was 7:42 or 7:44. I was pretty happy with that.
I’d say all out and only one mile, I could run a 6:20 or so. Maybe I should test that out soon!
Nice job. There is a local running store that just had a mile run. I think they do this 2 or 3 times a year. I think my fastest mile has been a 7:15 and that was probably 3 years ago. Makes me want to hurl thinking about it LOL.
NICE JOB!!! 6:28 is awesome!
Nicely done!
I can’t remember the last time I ran a mile time trial. I can run 800s at a 6:45 pace, but I haven’t tested my speed on 1600s in… ever?
Woo-hoo! Nice job! I’ve been wanting to test out the one mile thing… and also not wanting to. I know it’s gonna hurt!
Wow…that’s my average pace per kilometer. Way to go! I will have to see how fast I can push out a mile. Does it count if I passout/throw up/fall down at the end of mine? I usually reserve my dance, dance, revolution for during the run (perhaps why my pace is what it is?)
Nice work! I haven’t tested myself in a very long time – high school? I’m guessing around 7 maybe? Now I’m curious so I’ll have to test myself.
I’m so happy for you! Not sure of my fastest 1 mile since believe it or not, I don’t wear a GPS. But I’m getting a little curious.
Congrats – and side note – the mid life crisis is even better than the third :)
Awesome! I have no idea how fast I can do it, but I think I’m going to try ;)
Time for a time trial!
Great job on your sun 6:30!
Okay, I certainly could NOT run a mile in 6:28!!! Then again, I’ve gone from not being able to run more than 30s to hitting my first 10-miler tomorrow. The fastest I’ve run a mile is 9:47. I’m sure I could test it out again in a few weeks and see what I’ve got.
PS: DAMMMMMMNNNNN! ;)
Woooowweeee! That is speedy. I have no idea how fast I could do a mile. Now I’m intrigued to find out.
thank you for making me need to go watch 500 days of summer….
Nice job speedy. I definitely can’t run a mile that fast. And why can I totally picture you busting out in that dance at the track?
That is fantastic! You are incredibly fast. Congratulations and a big hug for your first Father’s Day. Sounds like this is a good year for you. :)
I did a sub-6 once… then nearly yacked on the track.
Haven’t tried an all-out mile since my kid, though. I’d be curious what the result would be, and now that you bring it up, I’m curious. Experiment to come…
I would then keel over and die. You rock.
Congrats! That’s awesome. My fastest mile was 7:59. I strived to get to an 8 min mile for a couple of years and finally got there one day on the treadmill with a slight incline (trying to reflect the reality of the road).
