Time for another PLAYLIST THURSDAY… no spotlight for this week, but you are getting three “sorta-pop” songs. Enjoy!

Again, here is the format:

  • Something Old: These will be songs that are at least 5 years old. I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.
  • Something Current: These will be songs that have been released within the past year. I know, but you have to give me some leeway here.
  • Something to Consider: These will be songs that are not typically heard on the radio and may be by artists you’ve never heard of or considered running to. This is the wild card category, can be old or current.

Something Old

Artist: P!nk
Title: So What
Side Note: Don’t knock it till you try it. With all the relay news recently (So Cal Ragnar and Nuun Hydration Team) it reminded me that I fell in love with running to P!NK during my previous relay experience. Yep, I knocked it until I tried it. Now it’s your turn. (Someone pointed out that song is only 4 years old, oops. Still a great ad)
Quotable: “I got a brand new attitude. I’m gonna wear it tonight.”

Something Current

Artist: will.i.am featuring Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger
Title: T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)
Side Note: It starts off with “Oh my goodness. This beat is so hard.” and will.i.am is right… this beat is so fresh! Lyrics are eh, Jennifer Lopez is annoying and Mick Jagger is a legend. Every other pop singer (Maroon 5, Keisha) is mentioning Mick’s name and the will.i.am put him in the damn song. Getting it done!
Quotable: “I’mma go hard, hard to the core. Hard like moth* f*c*in liquid swords. Harder than worldwide stadium tours. I am the future, delorian doors.” That’s right, Michael J Fox shout out!

Something to Consider

Artist: The Wanted
Title: Chasing The Sun
Side Note: Haven’t really heard this song to much, that’s why it gets placed in “Something to Consider” rather than Something Current. The title pretty much requires it to be running related, even if it isn’t. And are these guys cute/hawt or whatever? British-Irish boy band? I don’t know. I’m so out of touch. Maybe I get some tweener points for having them on my blog. LOL. You might have heard their other song “Glad I Came.” Glee fans, the Warblers performed it at Regionals.
Quotable: “We’ve only just begun. Hypnotised by drums. Until forever comes. You’ll find us chasing the sun.” Ignore that one line later it says “We refused to run.”

Don’t forget to go over to RunningOnIpsum as she usually joins in on the fun. Does anyone else? I’d love to include a list of other bloggers that create a PLAYLIST THURSDAY post. Really easy, rules are above, copy and paste and enjoy.

Alright, let me know what you think. Love it? Hate It? Loathe It? Couldn’t care less?
