With a new year comes some slight revisions to your training. I stick with what works… and that is A LOT of running. But this year, I want to work in some more cross training. I’m going to be working in some strength training and yoga. Since a new year is also a symbol of a new beginning, that means I get new shoes!

Like my rules? Feel free to follow the “pavey rules” and get yourself a pair. I won’t tell.

Towards the end of 2012, I won a giveaway for a pair of Reebok shoes from Jess over at BlondePonytail.com — and for Christmas, I gave that pair to wifey. She needed some new kicks and I thought this would be a very sweet gift. I posted the photos on my Instagram and Twitter accounts and everyone seemed to be a fan of my color selection.

I was a little envious of her bright-colored, fancy shoes.

Reebok is the one brand of shoe that I don’t have in my closet. I have several types of running shoes. Some I use for long distances, others for trails, some for speed and some for simply walking around. (Yes, I walk around in brand new running shoes.) My closet consists of Asics, Mizuno, Saucony and Adidas but I have yet to own a pair of Reebok shoes. I love the bright colors they have, so I decided to buy myself a pair using a #FitFluential coupon over the holiday season.

So I picked these: a pair of RealFlex Speed.

They call me mellow yellow — ok, no. No they don't.

They were on sale for $80 and when I added a hoodie for wifey (I’m such a good husband), I was able to use the coupon on my purchase over $100 — SCORE!

I was not compensated for this post. I wasn’t even given any free items for this post or asked by FitFluential or Reebok to post this. That’s right. This was just a post that I decided to share because I love new shoes. Don’t you?

What do you think of my fresh new kicks?
