Being part of the ASICS LA Marathon Blogger Challenge has been all kinds of fun. There is so much going on behind the scenes that this weekend is building up to be pretty exciting. ASICS is putting together a post this week to introduce the entire Blogger Challenge team and it’s an amazing line up of talented and amazing runners… I’m honored to be able to be next to them for this event. It’s officially race week and the ASICS LA Marathon is this Sunday, March 9. Here is a quick run-down of what will be happening this weekend.

Some of the weekend events:

Friday:
ASICS VIP party w/ other runners & bloggers
Saturday:
Shake-out run with the entire ASICS LA Marathon blogger team, coaches and some ASICS elite athletes (say what?!?!)
Sunday:
Race and celebration dinner (post-race) with crew and blogger team

In between all of that fun, there will be plenty of photos, tweets, social shares, selfies… and oh ya, a Marathon on Sunday. There is a good chance that I’ll be at the expo twice over the weekend. I’ll most likely swing by on Friday after I land to pick up the packet, do a little expo shopping and handle all the details. On Saturday, I’ll probably swing by the expo again between 2-4 pm. I know a lot of people that will be in town for the race, so hopefully I’ll see you there.

LA Marathon preview:

The race sold out this year, so I’m happy to be included in a popular race. The course is a point-to-point race that essentially starts at Dodger Stadium, runs through Hollywood, then through Beverly Hills and finishes at the Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific Ocean (course map). While running through that I will, again, attempt to finish 26.2 miles in under 3:30. The course, in terms of elevation gain/loss is harder than when I tried it on the flat course of Phoenix in January, but if there is a race and a clock, I’m going to give it a try. I’ll definitely have all the motivation from missing the mark in January and wanting to redeem myself. In comparison to the races I have on the calendar coming up, this may be my best chance to give sub-3:30 a try before Fall.

ASICS giveaway

Part of the cool thing about being a member of the ASICS Blogger Challenge is the all the cool gear. ASICS has definitely hooked it up with some fancy swag. Since the ASICS Kayano is my go-to shoe for a marathon, I was pretty stoked. Little known fact: 18 of my 20 of my marathons have been run in an ASICS Kayano shoe and this one I’ll be rocking a pair of their special edition Kayano 20 Lite-Show with special reflectivity and a glow-in-the-dark GEL cushioning. I’ll also be rocking some ASICS gear all weekend and on race day, but you’ll see plenty of this photos over race weekend.

Lucky for you, ASICS is sharing the love:
TWO lucky winners will receive a $150 gift-code from ASICS
