Maverick: I feel the need…
Maverick and Goose: …the need for speed!

This week we are talking about music to add to your Speed workouts… or music that makes you run faster.

Same rules:

Something Old: Songs that are at least 5 years old. (I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.)
Something Current: Songs that have been released within the past year.
Something to Consider: This is the wild card category. Feel free to list any song: old, current, guilty pleasure, underground, whatever.

Something Old

Artist: Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Title: Bad Reputation
Side Note: One of those songs that you forget how much you like it until it comes on. It pops up in movies and you get that “oh ya, I like this song” thought. This is the perfect song to have pumping in your ears as you are weaving through people during a race. Weave, pass, weave, pass… SEE YA!
Quotable: “I don’t give a damn ’bout my reputation. You’re living in the past, it’s a new generation”

Something Current

Artist: Bruno Mars
Title: Locked Out of Heaven (Sultan and Ned Shepard Remix)
Side Note: I really liked Bruno Mars’ first album. I wasn’t too impressed with this single. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, just expected better maybe. This is a pretty good remix and I much prefer it over the radio version.
Quotable: “Cause you make me feel like, I’ve been locked out of heaven”

Something to Consider (NSFW)

Artist: T-Pain
Title: Nothin’
Side Note: Ok. Fact: I love running to T-Pain. The version I have on my playlist has E-40 on it, but I couldn’t find a decent version of it on You Tube. E-40 is also a great artist to have on your playlist for speed work. Yay Area!
Quotable:And I’m a boss, get lost, Maybach, Rick Ross”

There you have it, some songs to add to your playlist for your next speed session.

In case you missed it, we had a pretty big announcement yesterday.

You can also check out other Playlist Thursday posts here (or add your own link).

What songs are on your “speedy” playlist?
