Day 1 – Arrival in Toronto
First stop was the CN Tower
Inside the CN Tower: skyglass below me, floor WAAAAY below that.
Outside the Hockey Hall of Fame… me and the dudes.
The Eaton Centre, Toronto’s largest galleria (mall). 6 stories, glass ceiling, 285+ retailers.
…and apparently one of them is feeling violent towards me.
Day 2 – A Castle, the Expo and Dinner
Casa Loma: former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt, complete w/ secret passages and an 800-foot tunnel.
and a perfect place for some yoga.
and for striking a “kingly” pose.
Meeting up at the Expo
Jaime, Krysten @DarwinianFail
Day 3 – Race Day!
Good morning Toronto, any one else up for a quick 42.2KM run?
Various points throughout the race.
Bringing home some new hardware and met some fellow runners. Hi Mari and Laura!
After the race, tried Smoke’s Poutine (fries, gravy, cheese curds). Double Pork: Chipotle Pulled Pork, Double-smoked Bacon
Then it was off to Kensington Market. A very vibrant multicultural neighborhood. Had some gelato, too! Rungry!
Walked around the University of Toronto.
And went to Queen’s Park. (Nice shirt!)
We went to Guu for dinner. Kierston (CandyFit) and Krysten (DarwininaFail) highly recommended it. APPROVED!
Day 4 – Traveling to Niagara Falls (Canada)
Got up early and caught a train to Niagara Falls (Canada).
And enjoyed a Canadian breakfast: Allen’s apple juice and a pastry from Loblaws.
ooooooohhhhhhhh.
Time to go on the Maid of the Mist.
We got really close to the falls.
Then we got REALLY, REALLY close.
Next, we took a walk right next to the Niagara River.
Look how clear that water looks… amazing. Also a class 6, considered unrunnable.
Then we decided to go BEHIND the falls.
That’s me! Those people to (your) left totally photo bombed me.
Don’t worry, I didn’t jump down them. But I did jump next to them.
The level of water flowing was intense, beautiful and powerful.
I even managed to hold a boat and a rainbow in the palm of my hands.
I even got to kick it with The Royal Canadian Mounted Police
and danced with some chocolate. We’re like BFFs now.
Then I punched a dinosaur!
but we made up.
And I got to do some more Yoga as the sun went down.
Did you know that they light the falls at night? Pretty cool, huh?
Day 5 – Traveling to Niagara-on-the-Lake
We took a self-guided history and heritage walk. (Courthouse, built in 1847)
Various homes and locations of historical significance.
Fort Mississauga – yep, I stormed it.
Fort George… they kept me out.
But I got to fire their canon!
and go for a flight….
Because I am Super Man.
Then we made it back to Niagara Falls and sampled some local beer and wine.
and enjoyed some more views of the Falls.
Day 6 – back to Toronto, then SF.
Not before we had a “Beaver Tail” – fried dough with cinnamon and sugar. Another reco from Kierston and Krysten. APPROVED AGAIN!
And we of course got to experience some rain. (Train Station)
I can’t believe they let me through customs with a medal the size of my face.

Great set of pics! It’s been years since I’ve been there and have never been to Niagra on the Lake but always hear good things about it. Thanks for sharing.

Okay. I love this. I also loved that you tasted everything both Krysten and I recommended (so funny because I had no idea she recommended those things either!) Tasty minds think alike LOL GUU is FUreakin’ awesome and so FUn! There are two locations in T.O. Each GUU is slightly different.
Your pics made me smile. So happy you two had a great time in T.O. Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara Falls! Did you end up doing the haunted house?
:)
What a fun trip! That dinosaur needs more than 1 pose…lame. ;-)
Looks like a ton o’ fun. I want to travel with you just for the simple fact that I want to take fun pictures! I’m always the one snapping but rarely get to do the fun poses =)

Thank you so much for sharing all the pics!!! I loved them & the fun & beauty of life!!! You rock!
Love all the pics! POUTINE!!!! I grew up close to the (eastern) Canadian border, so I’ve eaten poutine forever, and people (including my husband ) think that it sounds gross and refuse to try it :( bummer.
I think your next racecation should be an East Coast one!!
Love this post! It was so great to meet you guys, and I’m so glad you got to see Casa Loma and the Niagara region as well. You definitely had a super-packed visit but I love that you tried out so many Canadian things!
