I know Summer officially ends next month, but with kids (not mine) getting ready to go back-to-school and the sun starting to go down a little bit earlier each day, it sure does feel like it’s coming to an end too quickly. My running schedule post-father’s day has been fairly low key, but I’m all in for the month of August with THIS CHALLENGE and ready to step up my training for a very busy fall (to be announced later).
Last Sunday, I ran the Giant race half marathon and took advantage of a new favorite in my running repertoire: New Skin products, specifically Liquid Bandage.
Here’s how it went down:
Since it was a San Francisco Giants themed race, it was pretty much mandatory that I wear my orange compression socks. The concern was that I typically use those for recovery, and not really for running (I use my compression sleeves for that). In order to prevent potential blisters on my feet, due to the compression socks being thinner than what I typically run in, I generously applied the liquid bandage to possible hot spots on my feet. Better safe than sorry.
How did it work?
Thankfully, no blisters. That is the second time New Skin Liquid Bandage has come through and it is helping me complete some summer races blister free. If you have hot spots, I recommend giving the liquid bandage a try or their anti-chafing spray. You can find it at most over-the-counter pharmacy locations.
Check out their Facebook page for more details and other stories of runners using it in their training. I’m still planning on using it in mine.
New-Skin® has been providing active skin protection for over 100 years. New-Skin® Liquid Bandage can be used to help prevent bacterial contamination in minor cuts and scrapes and New-Skin® Anti-Chafing Spray prevents and soothes chafing and blistering from friction or rubbing.
