It’s Viewer’s Choice this week, so each Playlist Thursday around the web will have it’s own different theme.

I went with Electronic-Techno-House-Whatever-THIS-Is-Called.

The name always changes, but you know it when you hear it. Remember when DJs used to take pop songs then put techno or house behind it and it was always more fun to dance to? Well, now the pop artists just make it on their own.  I don’t know what THIS kind of music is called, but it’s all over my playlist now and it is making some of my training runs the fastest I’ve ever run.

Something Old: Songs that are at least 5 years old. (I know that isn’t too long to be considered old, but music turnover happens quickly.)
Something Current: Songs that have been released within the past year.
Something to Consider: This is the wild card category. Feel free to list any song: old, current, guilty pleasure, underground, whatever.

Something Old

Artist: Deadmau5 and Rob Swire
Title: Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff
Side Note: You may recognize the awesome head piece. There is an electronic version of this song that you may prefer, but I included the version with Rob S
Quotable: “It’s been so long, I’ve been out of my body with you”

Something Current

Artist: David Guetta feat. Jennifer Hudson
Title: Night of your Life
Side Note: This song was originally on David Guetta’s album Nothing But The Beat (9/2011), but DG just re-released an extended version of that album with some new songs: Nothing But The Beat 2.0 and this song was included — so that makes this current again. LOL.
Bonus Side Note: Jennifer Hudaon. Wow. She is looking fabulous. Sorry, Acadamey Award Winner and 7th place American Idol finalist.
Quotable: “Boy I see ya, looking at me. I feel your eyes on me, like you gotta have me.”

Something to Consider

Artist: Skirllex feat. Sirah
Title: Bangarang
Side Note: Another Playlist Thursday post by a fellow blogger introduced me to this song… I know WILD THINGS RUN FREE did a Skrillex song, but it wasn’t this one. I love it because it makes me think of the movie Hook… yep. Also, sorry, multiple GRAMMY AWARD WINNER Skrillex… another yep.
Quotable: “Shout to all my lost boys. Sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-shout to all my lost boys. We rowdy”

What did you think?

What is this kind of music called (be nice – if you can’t be nice, be funny).
