A month from now there is a 5-mile race with a Halloween theme. It’s in Oakland, Ca and it’s called HELLA-WEEN 5 Miler.

For those of you unfamiliar with California lingo, it is state-wide knowledge that northern California says “hella” and southern California says “hecka.” That is your California history lesson and why I think this race is going to be pretty cool.

Hella-Ween 5-Miler

Website
October 27, 2012
Oakland, CA
$40 before October 20
Includes Reflective Shirt — with a cool design.

It’s the inaugural year and it’s less than a month away. I clearly need help in what to wear. You already know that I love racing in costume.

Exhibit A: Michael Jackson in San Jose

Exhibit B: Hulk in Oakland

Exhibit C: Easter Bunny in San Francisco

This is also the 25th year anniversary (Too Legit: Celebrating 25 years of MC Hammer) since Oakland native MC Hammer released his first mainstream album (87). Hammer has been associated and stayed loyal to Oakland for a very long time. From working with the Oakland Athletics at 15 to shooting some of his first videos there. He actually had a bobblehead day last year at an A’s game. Pretty cool, huh. He definitely deserves a shout out in the costume competition.

Which costume should I wear?

Is there one I left out that I should consider?
